I'm interested in reading it, but it's out of my price range. I'll check my library and if that fails, I'll put it on my wishlist.

Sidenote - I'm always fascinated by the way people review biographical works. Only a few of the reviews gave me an indication of whether or not it was well-written and readable, and I believe none of the bad reviews were actually about the book.

That is a major problem with review regardless of items reviewed. Too often you have to search through so much crap that isn't about the actual product.

The book shown on the Amazon link seems to be a different book than the one referenced in the Guardian article. 736 pages vs. 1000, one volume instead of two, and a different title.

I agree, the one on Amazon sounds interesting.
