Waterproofing your ebook reader

I was actually looking for something quite different (a small zippered neoprene bag for my iPod earbuds), but I ran across this product ...

http://www.travelgear.us/servlet/the...arge%29/Detail

it looks like it would work really well for just about any of the ebook readers, and note that it says "water proof" not water resistant.

I'm thinking of getting one of these, that is assuming they have a size that more or less fits my Kindle.

Hey shopping queen!

The Dry Pak on Amazon is a little bit cheaper and a little bigger at 9 x 12 inches. A Kindle is 7.5 x 5.3 x 0.7 inches. The Waterseals bag may be a little tight on the buttons at 6.25 x 8.26 inches. If you decide to try it, please post a pic of your Kindle in it.

Honeybunny posted a picture of a Kindle in the Dry Pak here.

My only caution would be that it is going to be difficult to use the clicky knobby thingie to select things, so you gotta be determined and careful with that. Otherwise these bags are just the ticket, I think.

Hey .... I resemble that remark!!

I will probably give the LNC pack a try. I can use it for cosmetics and stuff (in my luggage) if it's too small for the Kindle.

I realize it "might" be tight ... and maybe too tight ... but I'd like to give it a try. and my ideal bag would be one that I could also use to protect against accidents (like getting soaked at a water park) while still fitting in my new purse. So, the less extraneous plastic around it the better.

Oh well .... this is why they call it experimentation.

Well, yes .... I see what you mean. I don't think I would be doing much with the whatchamacallit anyway. I'm mostly thinking of protection when it's in my purse (and I get doused on a water ride), or by the pool, when I think I would already have my book selected for raft reading and such. But ... it's a good point.

I remember reading threads on these, but never bought one because I couldn't try them out first.

However, I saw one in the boating section of a local sports shop and I took our readers in and found it fit my wife's PRS-505 pretty good. so I bought one for her.

I liked it after I got to try it out, and while they didn't carry one that fit my PRS-350 in stock, I was able to order a smaller one from the manufacturer that fit perfectly.

I am very happy with these for relaxing in the tub with a book.
