The KT2 is not an old device, less than 1 year old, still sold by Amazon, and has its own 5.6.5 update posted by Amazon. The KT (original, an old device) also has an update posted, but not to 5.6.5. Use the first four characters of your serial number to find our nicknames for the devices in this table: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kindle_Serial_Numbers Would you provide some more details of this: Quote:
Please tell us what works and what does not work. Have you tried to re-install USBnet? It was updated yesterday. See: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=225030 or, if you have trouble reaching Mobileread from your country, try the direct link: https://storage.sbg-1.runabove.io/v1...lic/index.html You will have to use MrPI to install packages to 5.6.<anything> Last edited by knc1; 08-24-2015 at 08:37 AM. |

Thanks, It's very luckly that KUAL call shell script still with user root. After reinstall usb/network and KPVBooklet, it's working proper now. The only thing is root passwd is unknow after upgrade. One small hack to reset passwd is add my id_rsa.pub ssh key to kindle, and edit the AutorizedKeysFile under usbnet/etc/sshd_config AuthorizedKeysFile /mnt/us/usbnet/etc/authorized_keys And reset passwd after ssh into kindle... |

*) Not a trick or hack - the use of public key authentication is recommend in the USBnet package documents. *) If you have pub-key auth, why do you need a password? PS: You can also Telnet in over the USB cable, Telnet does not require a password. |

I have a Kindle Voyage on 5.6.5 and also can't get SSH up. USBnetwork is there, KUAL works, but I keep getting "failed to start sshd"
any clues ? |

How did you jailbreak you KV? What set of directions did you follow (link please)? Did you jailbreak it while it was on an earlier version of the firmware? What USBnet package did you use? One from NiLuJe's snapshot thread? When (it has been updated recently)? What directions are you following? Last edited by knc1; 09-13-2015 at 11:04 AM. |

@ericcastro: What @knc1 said. That, and check the system logs (;dm in the homescreen's searchbar).
