FW 3.1.1 warning for Mark 4 Touch (N905C)
Note that there seems to be a problem with firmware 3.1.1 on the late model Kobo Touch (N905C, i.e. Mark 4 hardware) that I have not seen reported.
If you do a manual firmware update to 3.1.1 using Murg's direct link posted in the Developer's Area, everything will seem to go well. Once you try plugging your Kobo to a PC via USB, you will find that the reader goes into an endless reboot cycle and never appears on the PC (verified in linux and Windows 7). A Factory Reset will restore proper USB operation. This was tested on two different N905C Touches and both exhibited the same behavior. USB connection to PC with firmware 3.0.1 works properly. |

I had no problems with 3.1.1 on my Mini, though. |

Same problem here with 3.1.0 and 3.1.1, cf. this post. davidfor passed my stack log on. I did not hear of any response though. Did I really expect this to happen?

tshering: I'm sorry to say, that I completely forgot to do that. I remember planning to wait a few days in case another log came in, but, it slipped my mind after that. I have just sent the email with a link to this thread an the original post.
Writing the email had me wondering how you got the log off the device. It couldn't connect via USB and a factory reset was needed to go back to another firmware. So, how? |

Actually, I re-installed FW 3.0.1 by the use of the (now outdated) start menu, without the need of a factory reset. Thank you again for passing on the log. Last edited by tshering; 01-15-2014 at 04:27 AM. |
