Converting Java Rogue to Rogue for Kindle?

I'm sorry, this is probably pretty rude, but I thought I'd put it out there in case one of the uber-hackers on site were interested. I'm not a programmer (I'm lucky if I can keep my machine in-line), but I get the impression that Kindlet programming is almost the same as Java programming?

There is a cool online rogue (java):
http://www.hexatron.com/rogue/

He's even released the source - though he doesn't say under what kind of licence:
http://www.hexatron.com/more.html

Considering it's open source in the first place ... would it be a difficult job? Would anyone here want to take it on?

Without even looking at the source, I'd just have to say that Kindle Java is very restricted, it is based off of Java 1.4 w/ CDC or CLDC (forgot). Modern Java programs uses Java 1.6 w/ full JVM support. Plus, if the program is GUI, you need to port to the phoneme AWK from whatever graphics framework the program uses originally. So most likely, it's possible, but not easy.

Hmm - yeah, I thought it might be wishful thinking. That java does look pretty old. Speaking of java 1.4. I just saw this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/risk/

It uses 1.4. It is visually based, but not a fast game.

You'd probably be better off simply compiling a command line based rogue/rogue-alike and running it through one of the various Kindle terminal solutions.
