M92 annotations, alterations differ per type

Just received my M92 and trying to understand. The firmware is listed as version 1.7 20120406.

I am able to do annotations (at least it is offered in the menu) when working with PDF or ePUB format documents. Annotations are not possible with the mobi format.
On the other hand the mobi format is the only one (of these three) that enables me to change the space between lines, and to select type face. The only changable thing shared by all three types is font size changes.

Since I truely like to change all three these characteristics of displayed text, and since I did buy this ereader with the impression that "active reading" (meaning ability to draw lines; other graphs and to add textual annotations) was ubiquitous available I wonder if this is a firmware issue?

Hopefully someone can shed some light on the above issue.

I don't think this is "an issue". I don't have any mobi files to check, but the likely explanation of the different way different file types are handled is that boox uses more than one (third-party) file reader, which have different features for different file types. I don't know which reader does mobi files, but apparenty it is incapable of doing annotations, while others can do that - the latest firmware (from what I know) allows for annotations in both pdfs and epubs. Also, bear in mind that ebook files have their limitations - pdf files simply cannot be modified for display the way mobis or epubs can.

So unless Onyx (or the community) further develops the software, you'll have to live with this. One workaround is to use software such as Calibre to convert mobis/epubs/pdfs to your file format of choice (probably epub). You can also experiment with default file reader settings (settings menu) to see if file handling can be made more consistent.

Hi,

the most current software is 1.7 20120607.
And it is actually no problem to change the space between lines in EPUB files, when you open them with Coolreader or FB Reader. Menu ->Style (you can set the reader App in Settings -> Preferred Applications )

Discovered today that I can change the default app for epub, and other formats that I have not yet tried. Not sure which app is used for mobi files.
Also installed the latest firmware today. And went through a lot of posts on this site.
Even created a shell script that is able to run on the M92. Looks like a nice Linux system indeed Already saw some folks had created some daemons that work on the reader.
This raises the question "where can I find oar files ready for execution on M92?" I do not have a Linux system any more (went the Mac OS/X way couple of years back) making it a bit difficult to fiddle with sources...
Any clue if there is an NFS daemon that runs on Onyx M92?

The Cool Reader installed on the Onyx, is this the latest and greatest, or is it the latest and greatest that Onyx provides for the M92?

This would indeed be nice... I'm only aware of ftp server, which sadly doesn't run as a deamon.
