Joker - Does the Android app give you the option to download in parts rather than all? The iPhone app does. I think it's best to download one part at a time if you can. I just downloaded an ebook to my phone over 3G no problem. I just tried an audiobook and it freezes. All parts of that book are 30+ MB files. So I tried a second book. I was able to download parts less than 20MB with no problems. Took less than 2 min for 18MB download. Parts over 20MB freeze on Waiting message. I will try the same thing later when I'm on Wi-fi to see if that makes a difference. I know I'm using the iPhone app rather than Android but I wonder if the OMC app isn't that reliable for audiobook wireless downloads and it's easier to just sideload.

Yes. I downloaded just one part. You can select which parts to download. (the part I did was 32MB, it worked fine (over cell even -- my Nook was connected to the wifi hotspot created by my android EVO phone connected to sprint)).

hmmmm.....I'll have to try it again later tonight....and get that speedtest app you mention to check my home wireless.....I have had some minor issues with my NC staying connected (not any of the laptops though) Unfortunatley.....I had to go to work today (after 2 weeks off), so no playing with my nook until later..... If you do find a wifi issue, the free wifi analyzer app can show you your wifi signal strength as you move around and whether there are competing wifi points on the same channel. It won't show other forms of interference.

I'm bumping this up because I found the solution I've been looking for from this thread. Add to that there is a thread on downloading library books and thought this would be relevant.
I love all the solutions I find here and I love my NC which is now connected to my local library. Yay! |

As far as user-agend, that is done in the stock browser by clicking on the "settings" (upper right corner) and then the option for "Browser Mode/User Agent" |

Hi and thanks for all the info posted here. I have tried to follow everything but no joy on getting en epub book to open. I got to the garbled text webpage, saved it to dowloads, changed the file type from .html to .ascm. Now I see the file with a big red question mark instead of a file type. Looks like the step to associate ascm files with Overdrive didn't happen but I don't know how to do that. I did successfully download and start an MP3 audiobook directly to Overdrive.
ETA...found a note on further searching indicating that the download works if you use the B&N Browser rather than Dolphin. No garbled html file, no ascm needed. Once I got my Adobe ID set up in Overdrive, the file went straight to downloads. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last edited by Droiddict; 04-04-2011 at 10:29 PM. |

Overdrive epub transfer to Nook Color
I've had lots of frustration trying to get my library's Overdrive epubs onto my Nook Color. I have not rooted my NC. It's original issue.
I have recently used the instructions in this YouTube video, however, and it worked liked a charm: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=112185 Substitute the name of your library system for the one that produced the video. I've talked with a tech for my local library system and, at this point, there is no work around for my B&N Nook Color to first downloading to my computer then transferring the epub as described in the video to my NC. |

By the way, the epub comes through in epub format rather than pdf. It shows up exactly the way it was intended to read.
The process is actually simple to follow (see the YouTube video link in my prior post); it just doesn't seem intuituve to me. |
