Using a UK kindle fire HD outside the UK

I just got asked by a possible future customer if he will be able to purchase a UK kindle fire hd and register in in his own country of Malta and be able to use to it's full extent in his own country.

He wants to know if he can Buy ebooks, movies and music from the UK amazon store without problems.
Is there any euro (or others) amazon kindle hd users who bought there kindle from the UK and registered it outside the uk ,and use it outside the uk without problems ?

I would assume that this would not be the case, at least for video and apps.
Until the release in the UK, UK users could not buy from the US appstore.
Unlike with ebooks, Amazon seem serious about enforcing geographic restrictions for apps and video.
