Mine is beautiful! I was a bit unhappy about the idea of no buttons but the screen is so responsive and doesn't seem to collect fingerprints much, so HAPPY!

Yes very happy with the screen. It's really nice. I've been waiting a long time to add my vote.

After all the comments here and at Amazon about the bruised-looking screens, I decided to give the PW a pass, and got a used Touch on eBay. Then I saw that Best Buy had them in stock, and I decided to go out and look at them in person. The first demonstrator they had was bricked which always gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. I finally found somebody who showed me a different one AND said that after paying for it, I could try it in the store, and either exchange it or get a refund if I didn't like it. The one I got has a pretty even white screen and the lights work well for me. So far, I really like the screen, but I'm going to wait to vote for a while.
![]() I don't know if they've gone on to a second (or third) manufacturing method or not, but I have no regrets about waiting, and it was well worth the extra cost (tax) to be able to see what I was getting before I got it. |

Yes. I have one of the first batch and yes, I get the bluish pinkish hues around the screen. After about a week or two I stopped noticing them. Now, my brother and a friend both have PW from the latest round of production and while their screens don't have the blue and pink hues they have a very even green glow to them. I actually prefer mine "defects" and all. It's just more white.

I finally saved up enough points to get my paperwhite on Monday. So far I'm quite satisfied with my screen. I've been reading on it for hours each day.

I like the screen on my PW very much. It has a very pleasing texture to it. I do sometimes touch the wrong spot (I try to bookmark and call up the menu by accident) but it does take a little getting used to using a touch screen.
