Problems with hibernation
Since upgrading to the Ermine beta, I cannot let my EE go into hibernate; it won't wake up and I have to yank the battery to reboot.
I've noticed other people mentioning this problem in the "Ermine Experiences" thread but they are hard to follow. If you've had problems with hibernation after upgrading to Ermine, please post your experience here and anything you've tried (successfully or unsuccessfully) to remedy this problem. |

I've had no problem with hibernation on my EE with Ermine. I didn't do/not do anything.

Haven't had any issues with the pocket edge. With the big Edge occasionally I have problems with the wifi which gives an error. I need to restart to get it to work again.
You may try closing certain programs and see if that fixes it. |

Also had some problems with hibernation, seems like the first time I close my edge everything works as it should, but the second time it will sometimes refuse to come out of hibernation no matter which buttons you push.
Again i have the original Edge (not pocket) |

As everybody knows, I'm not Boris, and I don't have Magic Boris Aura, and I almost always have the it's-not-just-asleep-it's-dead problem when it hibernates.

I haven't had this problem yet, but was wondering if it would be an idea to check what apps are running through apps manager and make a quick note of them before putting the edge into hibernation. People with the hibernate problem could post here and maybe a common culprit/s will show up???

Might be more useful to show the output of ps (from a terminal emulator), since that will show all the processes. It's ugly, but this is the place where eNtOuRaGE said we should post problem reports. Mine is below; I hibernated for a few seconds, and the thing woke up. Then immediately repeated the hibernation, this time for several minutes, and the thing now needs a battery reset.

I have had the same problem. It does not happen all the time, almost always but occasionally I am surprised. Most often if left alone it will come back to life after some time. Around 15 minutes or so, others regardless of how low it is left it will not and I must take battery out. I have a similar scenario one time and I rolled back an then reinstalled and it fixed some problems but not sure if that'll do here. Maybe I'll try tonight when I get home.

I've had no problems with hibernation either for short of long periods of time.

I had to yank the battery as many 4 or 5times a day. then rather than let it go to sleep, I'd power it down. Too late, now my battery has discharged itself, I'm waiting on the replacement now, since today no EE for me.

I tried hibernating it again, and it locked up. This marks 5 times I've tried hibernating, with 3 lock ups, and 2 times it went okay.
I'm using the EE. |

Ditto. Only one time the readerscreen did not show the hibernationdisplay, but was completely black. Opening the reader app went well. So no problems with that. Only the closing of the browsers, native and Dolphin, is getting very annoying.

I think I have identified one possible cause / solution I hope some of you have the time to test it out too.
Under settings you will find accounts and sync settings. There if I disable Background Data more often than not, my EE comes back from hibernation. when that is active, it never does. If others seem to be finding the same thing, then I can try identifying other causes so that I can make sure it always returns from hibernation, rather than often. Thanks |

Another possibility mentioned in the Experiences thread is that a factory reset might fix it, but this remains unconfirmed. |

On my EE it's disabled and I have no hibernation issues.
