Custom column

I hope this is in the right place

I have a custom column that is a yes or no column. It shows an X for no and a check mark for yes. I would like it to say yes or no. Can this be done?

@Gardenman - probably not directly

You could to it with Column Icon Rules: Make two images (128px square), one with 'Yes' the other with 'No', then define a couple of rules in Preferences->Look and Feel->Column icon rules.

Or you could add your own text column then enter yes or no per what's in the Y/N column, then delete the Y/N column.

I did this when I had a yes/no column that I then decided I needed to add a third option to.

To expand on this, create a custom column with a fixed set of permitted values. Type "Yes,No" as the values (without the quotes).

Once the column is created, filter your library on all the "Yes" entries from the original column. Select all, Edit Metadata in Bulk, and select "Yes" in the new column. Do the same with the "No" entries. When you're done, delete the original column.
