[Bug report] Black lines on some pdfLaTex-generated pdfs
Hi all,
I'm having trouble reading some PDF files on my Kobo, and I thought I might ask for help here: the attached document displays fine on Adobe Reader, but shows black lines when loaded on my Kobo Touch (see attached picture), which make reading impossible. Do you know where this could come from? The document was built using pdfLaTeX and Beamer, and further investigation seems to suggest that it's the light background color which causes the bug: when manually removed using Adobe illustrator, the black lines disappear. That's not an acceptable solution though, because Illustrator messes up the math fonts and makes the file unusable. Can you reproduce this bug? Do you have any idea what I could do about this? I've also e-mailed Kobo customer care a few minutes ago. Thanks. Attachement: document demonstrating the problem |

My touch displays this file the same way as yours. I simply sent it through CutePDF Writer, and the resulted pdf is perfectly readable, however the file size is drastically increased. I think the background is rendered by CutePDF as a bitmap.

Thanks for confirming. I've reported this to the Kobo customer care email, which has until now only asked that I remove the file and put it back on the device, and then asked whether this was bought online.
