Orig Kindle (1) - what cable?
Hey yall! I can find this with a search, so I guess I'll ask: My mom is still using my original Kindle (1, if you will). What cable do I need to side-load files onto that? Is that cable part of the charging cable? She has the charging cable, but is so non-techy that I can't ask her if "the end comes off" or if there is a different input spigot for loading books from a computer.
But I want to do just that, when I visit her soon. So I knew somebody here would know what cable is needed to side-load files. ?? |

I'm pretty sure that the Kindle 1 and 2 used a mini USB connector. It switched to micro USB at the K3.

Just checked - it's micro USB. Strange - I could have sworn it was mini. Funny the tricks that one's memory can play!

I have plenty of mini's around; I'll just take one with me. Thanks -- I thought I remembered NOT giving her this cable, so she wouldn't lose it. That would imply that it wasn't the same cable as the charging cable. But I'll have both micro and mini devices along with me, so I'll be all set.
