Free Kindle: Results Not Typical
Results Not Typical: A Novel by Catherine Ryan Howard is free at Amazon main, and UK.
Book Description: In 2002 her teenage metabolism finally closed up shop, forcing her to join WeightWatchers where she lost 20lbs in three months – and then gained 30lbs in the three months after that. Thus her adventures in yo-yo dieting began. Since then she has tried calorie counting, smoothies, smoking, WeightWatchers again, Atkins, The Zone, South Beach, Dr. Phil, Bob Greene and Dr. Oz (collectively known as Oprah’s Friends, Inc.), WeightWatchers for a third time, a personal trainer, Alan Carr’s THE EASY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT (it wasn’t), Paul McKenna’s I CAN MAKE YOU THIN (he couldn’t) and WeightWatchers online when showing up to yet another registration was too humiliating to bear.
Finally Catherine resorted to joining a very scary cult-like organization that cost a small fortune, forbade her from eating 99% of all food and tried to brainwash her into thinking decaf coffee was a worthwhile thing, all under the guise of ‘behavior modification therapy’. She didn’t lose any weight and she almost killed someone (her clinic appointed “health consultant”, if you were wondering), but she did get an idea for a novel... |

Well, so what about the quality of writing of the author? There are several hundred newly free books every day at Amazon (due to KDP/KLL rules). What about this one singles it out that we should consider it a "deal" and worth reading (two different issues, to be sure)?
If every free KDP book is posted, this forum would be as useless as the free book searches at Amazon now. |

The biggest problem for self-published authors is name recognition.
Plus, how do you know an author is good or one you will like without reading any books by that author? But this thread does belong in author self-promotions But the other question I have is where is the link to the ePub edition? |

In order to list free in the KDP/KLL, the authors have to let Amazon have an exclusive - no other editions, anywhere. If it was on Smashwords before, it has likely been removed (although some authors simply don't bother with non-Amazon outlets, I do know others who do well enough in the other stores to give the KLL a pass just because of this restriction.

A PM with the OP confirmed that there is no affiliation whatsoever with the author.
This thread is in the correct forum. Remember: If you are an author or publisher, then you may NOT create any self-promotional theads in this forum. Self-promotion threads belong in....OK, are you ready for this?.....in the Self-Promotions Forum (even if a book is free). Don (Moderator) |
