Converting .exe Format to e-pub
Please share your expertise, so we can find a solution for .exe e-book format. Either of the bottom two questions can solve the issue- 1. Is there any way, calibre (or any other software) can convert .exe e-book to e-pub? Or 2. Can we find the location of .exe text file? Regards Sanjay |

Read about EXE in our wiki. It is an executable that runs under windows so it contains the eBook and the program to view it. You might try using a strings command to look at the ascii inside the file and see if you can spot the book. Strings is a command included with Unix so on windows you would need to install cygwin or find a windows version of the command. What format the eBook is in depends on the application used to make it.

Print screen it, run it through ABBYY FineReader, proofread it, export to HTML, import into Sigil, edit it like mad and take pride in the result.
If you're looking for an easy "one click" solution, there is none. Depending on the structure perhaps you could try with 7-Zip or WinRAR (by right clicking it - Open with WinRAR, 7-Zip). Meh... it probably won't work, especially if the author applied some form of encryption. But it's worth a shot. Personally I think print screening is still your best bet. It sure beats scanning, I'll tell you that! |
