Proof of US address?

Proof of US address?
Did this happen to anybody else?
Would be relatively easy for them of course, to ask for proof of registration or something like that. Not very customer friendly, but a workable process of course.
I haven't bought from Amazon for a few days. That's the first I'm hearing about.
Anybody else?

Amazon seem to ask for this if you claim that you are located in the US, but the information they get from the Kindle says otherwise.
