Question Koreader: improved rendering of PDFs with background shading?

Some of you may have seen PDFs that have pages that are not pure white, but have some kind of 'shade', usually because they have been copied from a hardcopy book.

These tend to load very slowly.
Almost unusable actually.

Of course one can use an OCR program to convert them and remove the background.

But I was wondering if there was any setting in Koreader that might do the same? For example I notice settings like 'remove watermark', dithering and so on. I thought there MIGHT be something that allowed you to ignore the background 'colour'.

Dewatermark is the one to use for that. (Btw, there's a dedicated subforum. )

Didn't look very hard, then. It's not exactly hidden.

Ok, just to confirm...it doesn't speed up rendering of the pdf...and appears to make the text disappear. Though I didn't stick around to fully test the latter, because the device was once again taking so long to do stuff, it felt like it was frozen.
