So, ich hab mir heute meinen Kindle2 bestellt *freu* Bin gespannt auf das Gerät.

Eine dumme Frage: es gibt doch nur einen Kindle2 - egal ob ich aus USA bestelle oder aus
Deutschland, richtig?

Danke euch beiden! Für einen Augenblick war ich mir nicht mehr ganz sicher ob es nicht vielleicht 2 gibt, einen internationalen und einen für die USA. Na, dann ist ja alles klar. Bestimmt werde ich erstmal bei Amazon shoppen, aber falls mir jemand Auskunft geben kann, wie ich deutsche epubs wie den Schätzing auf dem Kindle2 lesen kann, wäre ich dankbar...

Ed, Du kannst ePubs ohne weiteres mit Mobi Creator oder Calibre in Mobis konvertieren und direkt auf dem Kindle lesen. Das geht natürlich nur ohne DRM.

Danke für die Info, aber das mit den DRM-freien Bücher wusste ich schon. Ich möchte aber auch gerne DRM-geschützte eBooks, die ich woanders kaufe (z. B. was von Frank Schätzing, denn gerade bei so dicken Wälzern ist doch ein eBook von Vorteil) auch auf dem Kindle lesen (ich lese auch viel auf Englisch). Und was das Copyright betrifft, da kann ich beruhigen: ich kaufe generell die Sachen, die ich lese oder höre und das wird bei eBooks nicht anders sein.

So, mein Kindle ist jetzt endlich bestellt, auch wenn es im August schon 'nen neuen geben sollte - ich bin natürlich inzwischen Opfer des schlechten Wechselkurses: 333 US$ machen inzwischen 270€... Auch bei mir hat sich gelohnt, beim Preis auf US-Dollar zu klicken, in EURO waren das noch 281,99€!

Autsch, bei meiner Bestellung waren es noch 230,00€.
Die Gerüchte verdichten sich ja z.Zt. Bin auch auf den Kindle 3 gespannt.
