After some investigation into what's happened in my situation, it appears that the reason that I have 3 of these bodice rippers is because they are part of the Winter Warmers promo (as per Alastair_S post) and because I (not knowing about the promo) decided to download each of my accounts onto my BB Playbook in the 4th week of June which was during the period of the promo. (Separately of course - because there's only 1 Kobo app.)
It seems that was sufficient to meet the algorithmic requirements for Winter Warmers to drop the book to each of my accounts. (Irrespective that I've had the Kobo app on my Playbook since I bought it in 2010 (or 2011?), and read books from it during that time. Davidfor I've never had an account with A&R, and the algorithm still worked in my situation. And sorry I can't provide the affiliates info because I don't ever download anything onto my Glo directly from Kobo - only the epub version via Calibre. |

I haven't a clue how I might meet the criteria, but the same book appeared in my iOS app. I haven't got my Glo with me at the moment, only my Kindle, so I can't check. I've sent an email to my Dad who has my Kobo and asked him if he purchased this questionable content. Now I feel awful.
But to be fair, he has questionable book tastes. I've been stressing, thinking someone's hacked my Kobo account if it wasn't him, and I'll be finding this unauthorised purchase on my account. Now I know I'm not alone. I didn't want to remove it from my library, in case he actually bought it and wanted to read it. |

If you delete a purchased book then you can always get it back by going to your purchase history and bookmarking the first page, which adds the book back into your library. |

Yes, it's not in my purchase history, only in my library all of a sudden. Sounds as though it's a "gift" that isn't quite to my taste.

This is part and parcel of the entire Kobo environment. Selling books, any books trumps a crafted and software attempt to create a pseudo-relationship with their customers.
1. There is no safe search. They do not do it. An attempt to fulfill customers wishes is not attempted because they do not care. I complained. Y'all know how side-ways their responses can be. 2. I complained about their app giving out way more porn results than their web site. Again - side-ways responses and no real info. It was on this forum someone said they were redoing code on the web site first and then app (or their impression) for less smut in response to searches. If I get it I will complain to Kobo, but I will repeatedly badger Canadian buearacracies. My two (extinct) pennies worth. |

Yes, but I've been letting him read my books (I know it's naughty of me). He'd have to start all over again, and I've got hundreds that he's interested in.
However, if I was right, and he'd bought it, I'd be strongly suggesting that he begin his own separate collection. |
