Does anyone have a copy of 5.16.6?
Does anyone have a copy of the Kindle Update 5.16.6 file for the Kndle Paperwhite (11th Gneration)?

If so I would really like to get a copy so I can revert from 5.16.7 which as you may have seen from my other recent post is causing me some angst!

Alternatively I have the source code from Amazon as a tar.gz folder but I have no idea how to convert it into the required binay. Any advice gratefully accepted

You can download old firmware versions directly for amazon, but you can not downgrade firmware except on jailbroken kindles. Firmware greater than or equal 5.16.3 can not be jailbroken at this time.

You can only revert a Kindle if jailbroken.

You can't use (compile) the source as it missing maybe the loader and signature?

And they don't supply any source for the proprietary software.

Any even with all the source to all the software and all the pieces of the tool chain to build it, there is no way to install anything that is not the latest firmware on a non-jailbroken kindle, partly because no signature and partly no access to filesystem.

In short, on a normal (non-jailbroken) Kindle device, you cannot downgrade the firmware, and current jailbreak methods don't work on version 5.16.3 or later.
