Installation of Calibre 0.7.2 on a Debian box (32 bit) fails:

sudo python -c "import urllib2; exec urllib2.urlopen('http://status.calibre-ebook.com/linux_installer').read(); main()"

The same error already occured with 0.6.X

Which version of Debian are you running?

Calibre is supported on Sid. If you are running Lenny, then many (if not all) of the prerequisite packages are far out of date. Some may be available from backports, but by the time you are done satisfying the prerequisite chain you will a long way toward running Sid.

Lenny.

Good luck. I once tried to install the prerequisites for calibre on Lenny, and a few hours later gave it up as not worth the effort. It was easier to switch distros.
