Here is another link to all three of the eBook readers announced by Asus. Nice pictures.

The specs are great, this is a more dedicated reader compared to the other device I guess. Wifi is Wifi N I would hope.
The main thing we should note about these computer hardware manufacturers getting into e-readers is that they will drop the price very sharply. BenQ nd Asus have some very advanced components (monitors, motherboards many more) for obscenely cheap prices. They have huge manufacturing capability too. The price push from these companies will drive Kindle, Sony and others lower. |

And you don't need to run a dual channel 802.11N/G network just for one device, if the rest of your gear is already running 5Ghz N. And its not all about running from just the internet connection to your device-there is also running from device to device, at which point running 5Ghz N definitely is an advantage. |

Live Shots of Asus DR-950.
http://www.slashgear.com/asus-dr-950...eased-2271082/ It looks like the screen doesn't have the same level of "white" as e-ink. |

It's a little big for me, but it looks really nice.

That looks like an interesting device. Will keep my eye on this one. Looking for something to read PDF's that has a large screen and an SDHC card slot. Thanks for sharing!

Actually, 9" is not large enough for standard PDF pages. It is also significantly smaller than a hardcover page. I personally read at home, or on a plane, or in a hotel room, so I'd rather have a hardcover experience.... So, bring on the at least 11" screens.

Basic body design is not too shabby, and the UI, if final, looks alright. If the screen doesn't cripple the device too much, it could be a winner. Should fix the tips typos though...
