I have the same problem as Azur. The system boots normally.

Just to clarify,
1) I fomated the SD card in XP (right-click format as FAT32).
2) Put the image in SD.
3) How to put the rootfs image? Should I extract every folder and put in the SD card with the Mer image?

Is there anything else I need to do?

Thank you.

Assuming you are trying to re-flash with the Std OS you only need to have 1 file (SmartQ7 or SmartQ5 image get from here; http://en.smartdevices.com.cn/index.html) in the root folder of your SD card. The re-flashing process will create all the necessary folders/files. The best method is to hold down the 'move' key whilst plugging in the mains adapter. When the light turns orange release the 'move key' and follow the prompts. Good luck

Thanks a lot Nation.

Unfortunately my attempt at installing Mer 0.16testing did not work.
I put the image and pressed the hold button and plugged the power. The LED blinked gren/yellow/red and booted normally.

I flashed to Ver.4.0 and it worked perfectly for the same button. The light was green/yellow.

Thanks again mate.

Superflous Extensions

I finally figured out why I could not flash to Mer. When I downloaded the file, I named it SmartQ7 with an extension of SmartQ7 (so it showed up as 'SmartQ7.SmartQ7). When I removed the extension, it flashed without a problem.

You can see the releases here: http://wiki.maemo.org/Mer/Releases
Ver 0.15 is here (go to the bottom of the page): http://wiki.maemo.org/Mer/Releases/0.15
The WPA driver link might not be working. Check in here for it http://www.jiongtang.com/fourm/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=645.

Goodluck.

Don't use v. 0.15. It may have a bug that eats the internal flash drive. See the very top of the second link.

Use .16Testing or wait for the .16 release.

ahm, I see... tried 0.16Testing - It looks good, but right now original debian is much more usable. We will see in few months :-)
