Remove books from Calibre but not the library

Is there a way to do this easily. There are times when I want to remove a book from the Calibre database but keep it in the library folder.

You might as well shoot your foot

The DB is the Library.
You could Move selected titles to another Library (select titles: Rightclick: Copy to Library (options) )

I suggest setting a tag on those books and creating a search restriction that excludes those books from the calibre book list.h
