360 Pocketbook 360 and SD card file system error

I upgraded the OS on my Macbook Pro recently and after that my Pocketbook 360 does not mount.
My micro SD card has lots of ebooks on it already, so in order to add new books, I just copied them into the SD card directly from my Macbook (ie. Took the SD card out of my Pocketbook and copied books onto it.) The ebooks all appear on the card but when I try to read them, the error message is

Filesystem error. Its recommended to check device memory and SD card ( in explorer, right click on disk - Properties-tools-error checking)

I reformatted my SD card and copied all ebooks over but I still get the same message.
Software version is 14.2, fbreader180 installed for 6 months now and very stable, memory 466 mb 378 free
SD card 7585mb total and 7396mb free

Any ideas on what to try would be appreciated...(downgrade my Mac OS??)

Did you format the card with the Mac? If yes, then try to do it in the reader.
And try to unmount the card manually after writing (I don't know how you have to do this in a Mac).

Thanks for the suggestions - I had to reformat both SD card and internal memory on a PC...

And now will have to reinstall fbreader 180....hope that works!
