Image Zoom

I'm planning purchase of Kindle (probably DX) and one consideration is using travel guides (Lonely Planet, etc.), in Kindle format. Does the image zoom function still work where the map is displayed on a page which has both image and text content? The information I have been able to find so far describes the image zoom function quite clearly but does not mention whether or not it still works as well on a page with both image and text.

If you click on an image inside the kindle it will go full screen (rotated to fit the screen also) so depending on the resolution of the image you should be able to see the map clearly.

Yes. It makes no difference if the image is on a page by itself or on the same page as some text.

Don't expect the images to be great. On a standard 6-inch Kindle, it wouldn't be good enough to let you follow a street map or the plan of a building, for example. Presumably, it's better on a DX, but I image not that much better.

the Kindle iOS app lets you zoom images to full resolution and pan. Maybe also with Android & Blackberry, but haven't tried these.
