New Kindle App: Stopwatch / Timer from AGamz

Does it cause any additional drain on the battery? I know Kindle game apps do seem to drain the battery faster when used, so does the Stopwatch/Timer cause a large drain on the battery when in use?

A great question! And one we were concerned about too while developing the app. Amazon verifies this as part of their testing and decreed it "acceptable" - it was a pass/fail test so we don't know if its more or less than other apps, but we doubt it.

While its running, it will obviously drain the battery a little - mostly from updating the small section of the screen with the new numbers. Other apps do the same sort of screen updating as part of timing play (e.g. Every Word's timer or Shuffled Row's bar), so our guess is that its similar.

When you put the app in screensaver mode, though, it won't drain the battery at all. When you turn it on again, it checks the real-time-clock and updates the screen accordingly.
