How will the sony upgrade affect non-English font customization?

I have a sony PRS500 with non-English fonts. I am thinking about upgrading the firmware, but concerned about whether it will lost the ability to read those non-English contents or not.

So, for the experts who know how the font customization program works: do you think the current font customization program will bring back that ability after the machine is touched by Sony?

The Universal Flasher will likely need to be modified.
