Converting from txt to epub using defaults

Hi!
I am trying to convert a book in txt format to epub using the command line ebook-convert. Each paragraph is seperate by a cr/lf(I guess) and the first sentence is indented by a tab. When converted, it seems the tabs and lf/cr are stripped away, leaving just one book-length paragraph. I would like there to be paragraphs(of course),either separated by one blank line or an indent of only 3 spaces.

Use the --single-line-paras option.

What version are you running (try "ebook-convert --version")?
Can you post the command-line you're trying?
Check for typo's - cut & paste from

Update to the latest version.

Never mind. I rolled back to the an older version. .5.12 this is the latest version that works without errors. Newer is not necessarily better.

That may be true. However there was improved TXT processing added in the latest versions in the 0.6.x series, so if you were not using a very recent version you were definitely not going to get optimum results.

I was using .6x That was the problem. new version new mistakes. fix the misstakes in a newer version, also making newer mistakes..ad nausem. No thanks, .5.12 works ,I haven't run into anything it can't handle. Incidentally, I reinstalled it and it converted the book just fine. many thanks to the person who had the foresight to archive all the old versions and the generosity to make them available.
