Kobo epub formatting question

I know that the kobo touch formats epub files differently than most other readers. Specifically, the line spacing is much larger. My question is whether said formatting is because of the device (kobo touch) or because the kobo epubs are so formatted? And if I were to purchase a kobo epub and sideload it onto my nook color, would it keep the kobo formatting?

Thanks.

Complex question. We now know that this is caused by by kobo formatting in the book file itself.

When you purchase a book and download an Adobe epub from Kobo, it should not have this modified formatting. However, a recent change to Kobo has caused several (if not most) book E-published since Late November this year to be modified with Kobo styling, and that makes them very unnatractive on non-kobo devices.

Thanks for the prompt reply rashakae. It's unfortunate information however. The frequent kobo discount codes make kobo epubs attractive, but I'm not fond of their formatting. Decisions, decisions...

It should be mentioned that SameerH stated that that the formating change to the downloaed epubs is unintentional and presumably, someone somewhere is working on fixing it and replacing the affected books.

Hmm, thanks for the heads up. Will have to double check if I've purchased anything since November.
