another linking question in Sigil
I had posted about links and id's not working for me. I since got them to work but now after the last Sigil upgrade I started adding links and ID's and now see that the links and ID's work but when I go from a footnote link to a target the target displays with the entire paragraph shifted to the right. This was not happening before to any othe links /ids I did in previous chapters of this book. I cut and pasted this chapter with the shifting paragraphs on link click, can someone have a look and tell me whats wrong here?
If I need to send a chapter with links / ID's working correctly please let me know as I will add as an attachment. anyone? |

We can't help on a Link question without functioning code Code:

The problem you have is caused by all the garbage code left by Word. In the case of your file test9.epub, the myriads of non-breaking spaces (" ") are causing somehow that the window (the "canvas" using a simile) is much wider than the text area (look at the bottom scroll bar in the text window of Sigil). That's the cause of the shift of the text when the cursor moves from the footnote to the target.
You can solve this particular issue deleting most of the that you have on the line 3155 on the code view. Anyway, working with this mess of code most probably you will find many other issues. To get a cleaner code from Word you could use a very useful macro created by Toxaris https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...ght=word+macro |

Please, don't look into me. That will be a mess... Better take a look at my macro!
