Change (or show) date published to year only?

I would like to change the 'date published' column to only show the year, not month and year. If I could change this to record as well as show I would be very happy.

I'm not a techie person, so I prefer not to get into the guts of the program. I did go to "Tweaks". I found the section about pub date, but I don't know how to make my changes stick. (I changed from 'MMM yyyy' to 'yyyy'.) On restarting Calibre, the defaults remained.

If this is not the correct forum, could you direct me?

After you changed the tweak to

Code:

gui_pubdate_display_format = 'yyyy'

did you first press Apply in bottom right corner, then Apply in top left corner of the window?

You should then be asked if you want to restart calibre. This works for me.

You are in the correct place.
'Tweaks' should have done it, if you used the correct one

(and restarted afterwards)
You did leave the single Quotes 'yyyy'

Thanks! I did not see the lower Apply box, I needed to scroll down to see it. Everything is peachy now.
