Singapore Library
I emailed the Library of Singapore inquiring about joining etc and apparently I can't because I live overseas. I thought people anywhere in the world could join to read their ebooks?

I joined last year - perhaps they have changed their policy since then?
It's a very good library but the waiting lists have increased over the past year and frustratingly you can only waitlist 2 books at a time. I only ever waitlist books I can't get from my other libraries. I have no idea why it was originally open to everyone for free but it does make sense to restrict the membership or charge those who don't live in Singapore. Sorry you missed out but I will enjoy it while I can. Where in Australia do you live? We have a number of good libraries here. |

I live in a small town right up the top in the NT. lol There is only one library in this town and the librarian who works there doesn't even know what an ereader is!

OK well that makes it difficult.
I think you will need to be creative - do you have a relative or friend who lives somewhere with a good ebook library? Do you have plans to holiday somewhere that would enable you to join their library as a visitor? Also sometimes libraries will offer reciprocal membership to those who are members of another library - especially as you live in an isolated community they may allow you to join even if you don't meet the residential requirements. Once you have a library card it doesn't matter that you are up in NT, you will still be able to borrow ebooks. |

IME, don't ask. Just do. Seriously. When you go to join, you'll be asked to input a passport number. I'd suggest that you could input your actual passport number, should you have one. But that any 5 or more digit number should work.

Just join. You won't get the email that it says you will, so remember what number you use (write it down!) and log in.

I signed up a week ago, but didn't get an email, so figured it got rejected or got lost, so I just gave up... but I just entered my info and it worked.! |
