Kindle 3 USB cable
Is the Kindle 3 USB cable a standard cable? Can I use my Sony reader cable to connect the Kindle to my computer?

I doubt it. The cable that fits my K2 and Nook doesn't fit my Sony. I won't know about the K3 until Tuesday.

Its a standard Micro USB cable. No idea if the Sony uses Micro USB or Mini USB.

The only way I can see your Sony reader having the same cable would be if you had a new 350 or 650, as Sony has now moved to the mico USB. Any older Sony models use a different cable

You get a slightly smelly USB cable (new car smell goes away after a few days) in the Kindle box anyway so if the Sony cable doesn't work then you're not completely stuck.
