Thanks for that. A friend told me about it, but I missed it when it was on.
Oh, and I vote for truthful and funny, not that I have anything against iPads. |

I saw that last night during SNL and told my wife it made me glad I went with a clearance Sony over a Kindle.
It's like the old Grey Poupon commercials w/o the tongue-in-cheek quality |

I think it effectively brings home a benefit of e-ink that many are not aware of.
The irony is that there are reports that the K3 page turns slow down significantly in the heat (while this may have always been the case, it seems this is more pronounced). I wonder if the new Sony's will have the same problem. |

Glad to see Kindle is comparing apples to oranges...BUT people that don't know the difference will see that kindle is better for reading, but iPad is better for everything else...BECAUSE IT'S NOT AN EREADER!!

Apple taught the competition about such advertising with the way they promoted their own products previously now everyone is doing it to them from Verizon and Motorola and their droid ads and now Amazon with this.

There, I fixed that for ya. Of course you can read e-books on iPad, please let us not open that particular can of worms again

Yeah, I'm no fan of the Apple collective, but I can certainly picture the ad from Apple:
Same two actors in the waiting queue for the resort restaurant that evening. Guy has his iPad, woman has her Kindle. She's reading as she waits. He pulls out the iPad and... ...checks his reservation status ...checks his email ...discovers that there are still tickets available for a show/movie/whatever and orders them immediately "So, good book?" |

Amazon should rise above Apple and get a sense of humour.
Are the kind of people who read books likely to get a kick out of being able to ? Those in the market for a tech device, sure. Maybe Sony should try an ad with three gardeners: 'The walls of my orchard have stronger cement than yours.' 'The walls of my match-wood garden are much higher than yours.' 'My garden doesn't have any walls, so I grow whatever I like.' |

What goes around comes around.
Not that there is anything to get excited over; the guy could be reading on any LCD tablet device. Nobody is called out by name or portrayed by a dumpy clueless guy. To me the ad is just saying "yes, you can read outdoors in it." |
