If you quit a book to the home page and then later reopen it, it will automatically take you back to where you were when you quit. You don't have to explicitly bookmark at quitting time.

hey!! me again

i was wondering how to alter the font size on a page in kindle. i see there's this Aa button that asks for what size resolution to be done but that works only for part of the page. Currently one page of this book i am reading is on a small resolution maybe because the printing of the book itself was compact? anyhow how would i go about changing the font size so i can read it properly & also not have any text cut off?

What format is the book?
Is it a pdf document you sideloaded or a regular azw/prc/mobi (same format, different extension)?
If it's *not* a pdf document and it's a book you bought from Amazon, it might be (shudder) in Topaz format. In that case, your best bet is to contact Amazon user support; they are reportedly very responsive and helpful.

Basically, the font sizing button should resize all text in a standard Kindle book.
(Unless the half page not being rescaled is a graphic element; a map or table.)

thankfully not a Amazon book

! it is a pdf book...if i open it without trying to change any font i get very small printing (its the fit to screen option). so if i click the resizing option i get asked change to 150%, 200% etc. if i say 150% for ex it encloses a part of the screen in a box & changes the font on that part only. this way i loose data page to page.

With PDFs the Kindle doesn't change the font size; all it can do is change the zoom (magnification) factor which is why you only see part of the page the other part should show up if you use the thumbstick. (I think; I avoid PDFs like the plague.)
If it is a text-only PDF, you could just turn it into a Mobipocket file and then it woud behave like a real ebook file.
If you go to: http://www.mobipocket.com/en/downloa...ilscreator.asp
you can download the MobiCreator app that will automatically convert pdfs into Kindle-compatible file (for free--Amazon charges something like 10 cents to do the same thing).
Just make sure you install it in the Pro version not the personal.
Then just import the pdf and copy over the prc/mobi file to the Kindle.

hello!! i am back again with a question. i was trying to make a folder of books so to speak on a kindle. i go to home page click the menu button & should use the create a new collection tab on it, right? but this create a new collection thing is greyed out for me...how do i go about making a collection/folder in kindle? thank you!

& also if i go to a books details by right clicking it the place where it says ..."add to collection' is greyed out for me as well. i see the others go to last page read, go to the beginning etc just fine but not the one i need!

Well since she does not want to use USB then my Aluratek is out, its got no wifi. Since she does not want to wait for the boot time, the Pandigital Novel is out, it had a horrible boot time and needs to be reset all of the time.
