Another big price difference between UK and US

If you want to read the highly rated new release thriller Fragment by Warren Fahy in epub you should buy it from the UK as it is 5.24GBP at WH smiths store and between US$11.99 and US$22.60 at US ebook stores which up to US$13 cheaper.(Kindle edition is $9.99 but no use to Sony readers)
Its strange that there is such a big difference as it was released almost simultaneously in the UK and US in late June.

Take a look at the paper copies.

In the US it came out in hardback on 16 Jun 2009 at $25 RRP ($16.50 at Amazon)
In the UK it came out in paperback on 23 Jul 2009 at £6.99 RRP (£4.89 at Amazon UK)

this explains the price difference, but not publisher stupidity when it comes to ebooks and distribution.
