First off, I love Wool, but...

It intrigues that with all the complaints of distopian SF, there's so much enthusiasm for Wool. I realize we aren't *typical* readers, but does anyone have any theories on why Wool has turned into the phenomena it has?

As a SciFi novel it is up there with the best I have ever read. It has great characters, an intriguing and ever developing plot and a quality of writing that paints picture in your mind.
I can't agree that there are lot's of complaints about dystopian SciFi. There are a handful of people here who have been vocal about it but that does not make them right. It is all opinion and it seems a lot of people share the same opinion of not only Wool but Hugh's other writing.
