New to the Sony PRS-505

Hi all,

Happy new Year to all and their families. Just signed up as I received a PRS-505 for Xmas. Was a little tentative at first as I'm sooooo used to physical books. However, downloaded a few books from the Sony site and now I'm hooked. Lots of good info on these pages - looking forward to jumping in and getting started.

Welcome to MobileRead, stumacdo! After a while, you'll forget about the piece of technology in your hands and just focus on the words. Enjoy!

I forget I'm not reading a pbook! There will be a piece of dust on my Reader, and I expect it to go away when I turn the page

Congrats, and enjoy!

Also new here. Sony 505 due to be delivered next week. I am looking at Calibre and reading about tips and tricks and all.

Looks like finding a workable Bible on this platform is not as easy as with the Palm or iTouch. I'm hoping that something commercial will work well.

There's a thread around here somewhere about that, and also Sony has the NIV (I think it is the NIV).

Fictionwise has:

Holy Bible, King James Version New Testament
Holy Bible, King James Version Old Testament
Together they are about $4 for non-club member... and they are Multiformat so you can get the LRF versions.

They also have a couple of NIV's by two publishers for about $11 each in secure format if you are willing to deDRM and convert.
