Having fun with my new stamp set and various colouring methods.
I've tried colouring pencils and watercolour. I especially like the watercolour look, but I'm really not good at watercolouring. So, I think I might treat myself to the 12 pencil Derwent Inktense watercolouring set. |

Today I booked the hotel room for my trip and I just arranged my insurance. Tomorrow I'll go by the office of Eurolines to get my bus tickets.
Four weeks from now I'm (hopefully) relaxing in my hotel room in Antwerp. I've decided I will pamper myself so over the coming weeks I'll be buying my favourite shampoo, shower gels and bath bombs. I've also discovered there a 2000 square meter art supply store in Antwerp, and they have several things I've been looking for, so I'll be visiting them for certain. |

Right now I'm trying to track down my W-2 form. They usually send it around the end of January, but that's when I left for Richmond for two months to be with my daughter. When I came back recently I turned my computer on to discover it had a shot motherboard that had to be sent out for repairs. Now I've got the computer back, the tax program is installed, but I can't find a W-2 with my name on it. I'm not even sure the job from which I retired even sent a W-2, or if I need one, or if those three days I was still a government employee are included in the 1099 the GAO sent. I've called personnel and left my number on two different people's voice mail and have not received a reply from either one.
Oh, well. I'm sure the IRS will understand. Last edited by WT Sharpe; 04-01-2015 at 08:45 PM. |

I tried getting on the government's MyPay site. They have everyone's W-2. Well, everyone who hasn't been retired for longer than one year. After one year they kick you out of the system. That's really helpful, as so many people, like I did, retire on January 3. Fortunately one of the folks I called yesterday finally called back and gave me a number that eventually hooked me up with a real live person who assured me that I'll be receiving the W-2 in 7-10 days. That's cutting it close, but it shouldn't be a problem and the tax software makes things pretty simply these days.

It took me 24 hours to get the submission to work right. I didn't use any tax software, though, just the web form, so maybe you'll get it right on the first try.
My ex was a tax preparer -- extensions are pretty routine, I believe. Just make sure you pay an estimated amount, if you think you'll owe. THAT doesn't get extended (the deadline for paying). ((As I recall)) |

Not much reading, today. I hope to get back on my walking schedule and I've been moving and converting (some of) my MP3s for a new media drive, a new computer, and a couple of new MP3 players.

Watching the Lunar Eclipse! Almost full moon and a 3/4 eclipse from here. Crystal clear night and the view is incredible!

Waiting for the glue to dry on an Epee rewire job. I busted a wire Saturday which meant stripping out the old wires, removing the point, and installing a new set of wires in the point and gluing them into the groove of the blade. Not a difficult job, except for the two teeny tiny screws in the point... the sort your would find inside a watch.

Looking for affordable noise cancelling headphones. The season of the student parties has started. Also the café that was taken over last year and said they weren't planning on playing loud music is doing just that, and when the weather gets better they'll open the back doors so it'll be more noticeable.

Strider has developed an interesting, cute habit. When I get home I need to be flat for awhile to unkink my back. He lies full length behind me becoming a heating pad. Even during the coldest nights he would rarely get under the covers, but he does it when he's a heating pad. He's my little therapist
