Can anybody confirm that for kepubs (preferably on an H2O, just to be sure)?

Terisa confirmed it was for kepubs a couple of posts later. It was a problem only in the kepub renderer, not in the epub renderer. And if it is fixed for one device, it will be fixed for all running the same version of the firmware. But, I can see it is fixed on my Glo HD.

Thank you for your confirmation, David. This irregularity has been bugging me for quite some time now

I was missing an 'else' there. I know that it should work the same on all models running the same firmware. I've seen enough cases of things behaving differently for no apparent reason at all to not simply assume something works unless confirmed by at least a couple of independent sources.

I only say it in my Aura One, the Aura stays in 3.11, and I think it is going to stay there forever.

When I synced, no new firmware was found. I'll wait then.

I'm curious: How did you put it to sleep? Using a sleep cover? Hitting the power button? Or leaving it to auto-sleep on its own? I'm working on a theory here.

FYI, Kobo are aware there still are battery bugs and problems with the new firmware, and have this to say about it:

"We are aware of the battery issue on the Aura One. There will be another update coming soon which will fix this issue. When exactly the update will be released is not known yet. Please bare with us."

@Zaroff: The update is not available to all affiliates yet so it's normal for people to not yet receive it when syncing. You sure they weren't referring to that? The purpose of _this_ update was to fix the battery drain issues, I'd be surprised if they delayed that for the next.

@Stingo: how did you update? if manually, did you put the entire zip contents or just the koboroot.tgz? With just the tgz you might be running an old kernel - those files changed (checksums), although not sure how relevant those changes are.

Pretty much, since they're referring to "another update", plus I let them know that I continued to have problems post latest firmware. I'm trying to confirm with them.

Well this is awesome. I updated mine yesterday after performing a factory reset at about 5pm. I read for about 30 minutes at 11pm and the battery was already down to 67%. As of this morning it's empty again.

I thought that THIS was supposed to be the magic update...

Called Kobo CS again and informed them that I had performed the upgrade and have had two full unexpected discharges since.

The CSR told me that they've since released a new update which will definitely fix my issue and sent me an email linking to a Goodereads article talking about the merits of 4.1.7729

What part of : I have already upgraded to 4.1.7729 and am still experiencing abrupt unexpected battery drains didn't register with them?

The real kicker is that I was originally provided an RMA but it was later reneged promising an update on Sept 26 to fix this issue.

I have to constantly have my KA1 plugged into an outlet while reading as it's bound to be dead when I pick it up to read.

Frustrated...

I've upgraded. Reading stats seem to be updating now. I didn't have a battery issue before, so I assume it'll be fine still, as I haven't changed any settings.
