Sigh...
The 2.1.0 beta was promising with a note taking function that worked very well (though with fb reader only). But I just tried the alpha version of 2.1.0 and the note taking is once again very slow (i'm talking about the handwritten notes in fbreader). Is it somehow general or am I the only one? Also, i found the "scribble" application don't launch anymore, which is really sad. Besides i tried to use my android smartphone as a bluetooth keyboard (with the BlueputDroid application, for those who don't know) and it's -roughly- functioning, which is cool! There is still some problems with the accentuated letters (é, è, ...) and the special keys ( & , : ! ) but i don't know if it comes from the android app or the pocketbock. |

If you want, I still have the first of the two alpha versions of 2.1.0, in case you want to check for differences. |

I like that there is also a snapshot option... however i wuold like to take notes on them, like the old version of "annotation function"... but it seems that now it is no more possible. |

On PDF's using adobeviewer, the scroll functions works on landscape mode, but sometimes suffer the same problem of pdf viewer that do not scroll, but a quick fix is to turn to next page and going back.

The beta has done sudden reboots for me while running the Midori web browser with a Bluetooth internet connection. Not a showstopper, and you really should get a browser adapted to the platform.. neither links nor midori are finished, what with incomplete and inconsistent button controls, missing bookmarks, and settings that are ignored.

Forkosigan in the german forum said a while ago, there will never be a "final" release, because development never stops
..... We'll see |

I have already put here the links to the new 2.1.1 beta version for the pro models (and for the IQ) - it is taking me ages to download it (and still have not finished), but in the meantime it appears that the most prominent feature is the new organization of the files - this is also available as a separate applications (just put it in the "applications" folder), which I tried and looks pretty amazing (jsut explore all the options by clicking on the "books" icon on the top right corner of your screen): it allows you to visualise your books in a number of ways, including "genre", which, as far as I can see, means the tags you put when transferring books via calibre. Really good stuff! Only complaint, there is a word in cyrillic appearing at the bottom of the screen which I was unable to decipher.
The application, called "explorer_t.app" can be downloaded here, adn I think we've got ava1ar from the Russian forum to thank Last edited by paola; 06-12-2011 at 05:27 PM. |
