Try the one attached and let me know the results. I added some more error checking and the exception reporter to the save xml portion, so at the very least it might give more info of what is happening. That error says that part of the path couldn't be found, but I'm not sure why.
Also, if it still crashes with the same error, try a right-click and run as administrator.

BTW, I'm getting the same message "part of the path couldn't be found" when I do the following:
1. Start builder from scratch, browse for a new book, add proper new Shelfari link.
2. Do not touch button Build.
3. Click Save Shelfari Info.
Will get that "part of the path couldn't be found" message.

After building X-Ray file Save Shelfari Info works without problems.

Does it happen in 1.47? If it does, it *should* give the exception reporter rather than crash the whole program and the log on the main window should show what path it was trying to find. I haven't been able to replicate it here =/

Thanks for the new build. However, the exception report says that a part of the path "C:\xxx\xxx\book-name.xml" was not found when hit "save shelfari info". When I hit the "build x-ray" it obviously says that the meta data was not found.
This applies to all tested books (.mobi and .epub). I tried both running with and without admin.

Your book does not have an ASIN. Calibre will usually add one if you convert the book to MOBI or you can add one manually with a metadata editor (I usually use the Java Mobi Metadata Editor). The Amazon ASIN is B000QCS8TW for Game of Thrones.

Yep, you both were right, the ASIN was missing. After I added it with the Java Mobi Metadata Editor the xray builder created the .asc file.

"XRAY.entities.B000QCS8TW.asc"

Now I copied it into the .sdr folder, but the kindle does not show me the xray option. Does it require a specific name?

Couldt be you generated asc file in wrong format.
PW2 (firmware 5.6.1) and Voyage use new format, all other Kindles use old format.
Check your settings.

First of, superb work on the xray tool Ephemerality.

I bought a Kindle Voyage Basic, 7th generation that released in October. I was using a previous version of the Xray tool earlier, no problems - then the firmware updated yesterday and all xray files got deleted.

I downloaded the new version yesterday, and the xray files are being created perfectly. When I highlight a character's name however, the xray lookup dialogue box doesn't appear. If I tap on the xray option from the top of the page, I can see the character name being listed under the "Current Page" tab. But that's it. I get nothing if I tap on the character name on the page itself.

I'm using the v1.49 gui, and I copied and replaced files from v1.51 to that folder. What am I doing wrong?

I actually tried both ways. The xray option does not appear in Game of Thrones, whereas it appear in 1984, but greyed out, hence no information is found. I also run FW 5.6.1 on my Voyage.

Did you make sure to also put the copy of the book that you modified to have an ASIN back onto the Kindle as well?

It probably isn't anything you're doing wrong. I don't have a device that's easy to test the new format with until they update the PW1 to 5.6.1 (Amazon said they would eventually), so it doesn't work perfectly yet. I have an idea as to why clicking a name on the page might not work, but I haven't had a chance to test a fix for it yet.
I'm also looking for another library to use for SQLite that is faster, because the current one is excruciatingly slow.

Edit: Apparently autocommit was on by default, slowing things down. The attached version should be MUCH faster building the new format. Let me know if clicking a name displays the X-Ray panel this time as well. It may only work for terms that are just a single word, but it's just an experiment.
