There isn't a lot of information out yet. What little I have seen indicates that the new company will not be competing in the consumer market. They're going to focus on licensing their technology to other companies like they originally did when many of the first generation eInk readers contained iRex display controllers (PRS-500, Kindle 1, etc), and building partnerships. IE, they'll provide the hardware platform that another company will put their Apps on and market/sell it to a niche business market. For example, like these they did for the aviation industry...

I've heard that they're going to support the DR800 (probably as their base hardware platform for the above type projects), but don't know about the DR1000 or iLiad. I'm also not sure how this will effect warranty support for the current consumer products, and whether or not there will be additional firmware updates for consumers.

It sounds like they're trying to get back to the business plan they had several years ago, before they started selling iLiad's to end users.

I look forward to seeing how this develops. I don't have an "e-ink" e-reader yet. This is one of the earliest that I remember seeing. The price put me off too!
