Prefixes Now in Place for the Kindle Forum

MR is working to make the Kindle Forum more "user friendly" -- in particular to introduce some tools to help viewers quickly locate threads on a particular sub-topic.

When you post a new thread, you can now use the "Prefix" drop down box to add a sub-topic to your thread (Accessories, Content, Firmware Update, Hacks, K for Mac or PC, and Troubleshooting) to highlight its content. If your post is a general topic, then you don't need a prefix.

You can also use prefixes to sort your view of the Kindle forum. For example, if you are looking for recommendations on cases or skins, you can now select "Accessories" from the Prefix drop down menu and then click on the "Show Threads" button. Only those threads with the "Accessories" prefix will display in your browser.

The MR moderating team is currently going through the existing posted threads, adding prefixes. Please be patient.

If you have any ideas or suggestions for additional prefixes, please PM me (click on my name to bring up the menu and click on "Send Private Message) or post your suggestions in this thread.

pooh, I don't know that new people will find that! is there anyway we can jazz it up, make it more noticeable?

edit: never mind... I see what you are doing... but maybe brighter?

If the colors are not bright enough - they can be changed.

the orange stands out!!! maybe play with something other than the blues and greens? they kind of blend into the site background? to me at least? (anyone can jump in here!)

the color on the accessories really fades into the background. that is one of the first newbie questions

Can you suggest Prefixes that would be helpful in the Dev subforum?

The majority of the prefixes are now in place. Please let us know
1. if any threads have been mis-labeled,
2. threads that need labels
3. if the prefixes help you in viewing/sorting threads

But you also need to separate the hacks based on the model Kindle.

they're looking good pooh. just really REALLY faint. they need to be brighter. can't hardly even see the accessories one
