éditeurs en modèle d'agence et leurs sucursales

Je retransmet l'info car elle me semble intéressante à avoir si jamais vous l'avez raté. Ce ne sont apparemment que des éditeurs anglophones, mais rien n'empêche de compléter la liste si vous connaissez les sucursales françaises (surtout pour Hachette j'imagine):

Ben, en france on est sur ce modèle là depuis la loi lang...
Rien de nouveau sous le soleil.
Seul point qui me prend le tête pour le moment, c'est le fait que pas mal de bouquin sont manquants.

Mais la loi Lang s'applique-t-elle au livre électronique ? Après tout, ils n'ont pas le même taux de TVA que les livres papiers.

Je n'ai pas l'impression que ce débat sur le "modèle d'agence" existe en France, loi Lang ou pas. A ma connaissance il n'y a qu'un vendeur important de livres électroniques, la FNAC, et je n'ai pas le sentiment que quiconque essaie d'engager une guerre des prix, ou alors c'est une guerre à la hausse des prix

Vu que pour vendre, il faut, je suppose, des accords avec les éditeurs, ils peuvent très bien refuser d'en signer qui lanceraient une guerre des prix

Voui, enfin pour l'instant je ne vois pas trop la fnac se lancer dans une guerre contre elle-même. Il nous faut d'autres librairies en ligne de la même pointure, histoire de mettre un peu de concurrence dans tout ça.

Intéressant... sur le forum anglophone beaucoup de gens râlent contre le modèle d'agence parce qu'ils disent que les prix vont augmenter, et ici c'est limite si on ne voudrait pas imposer ce modèle pour que le prix du livre électronique s'aligne avec celui du livre papier

Ce qui me fait penser que j'ai toujours trouvé que les livres papiers anglais étaient très cher, quelqu'un sait d'où vient la différence de prix ? TVA ? Ou bien c'est dans ma tête ?

J'avais vu une étude qui disait qu'un livre comme les Misérables coûtait plus cher en France qu'au Royaume-Uni ou aux États-Unis.

Je ne sais pas si les choses s'amélioreraient si les éditeurs fixaient les prix. Ce n'est en tout cas pas une manière de les faire baisser, au contraire, c'est pour éviter qu'ils baissent trop du fait de la concurrence des grands distributeurs que la loi Lang a été faite.

Quant à rendre les prix plus cohérents entre le papier et l'électronique (dont la valeur psychologique pour le consommateur est inférieure à celle du papier), je crois qu'il va falloir un peu de temps aux acteurs du secteur pour comprendre ça. Mon impression est que pour l'instant personne ne comprend le marché, donc à tout hasard ils essaient de nous imposer le prix le plus élevé, pour voir si ça marchera.

Pour moi, les livres papiers en anglais vendus en France sont chers parce qu'ils sont un marché trop petit pour qu'il y ait beaucoup de concurrence, et pour que les circuits de distribution soient optimisés. Les livres sont importés en petites quantités, donc achetés au prix fort à l'éditeur (pas de ristournes sur les quantités), et les coûts de distribution sont plus élevés par livre que sur un marché national. De plus, les distributeurs ont peut-être des marges un peu plus élevées car ils ont affaire à une clientèle captive. Je suppose que c'est la même chose pour les livres en français distribués à l'étranger.
