I wish! She's cute
Actually it's because of the discussion in this thread - I wanted to see how it would affect me (and possibly others) if I used quite different avatars than my usual 'steam-punk' lion for a little while. And of course it brightens up the place for the season

If you actually read/watch all the reviews they all say essentially the same thing.

1. The hardware is solid
2. The navigation using the second screen has huge potential
3. All the flaws cited in every review are done so with the caveat that they can be fixed with an over the air update.

The major things have been addressed and while the 1.0 is not as polished as some may like, it's more then enough to get most reviewers to say its a solid reader and on par *if* not ahead of its competition.

Its going to be interesting over the next few months to see the updates coming out of both camps (kindle/nook).

My personal things I find a bit annoying, but am hoping get patched are:

1. Zoom for PDF's.
2. Audible support. ( I just think it should be there even if I don't need it )

Since Audible is owned by Amazon, do you think they'd allow it on the nook? Do any other ereading devices have Audible, aside from iPhone/iPod (but then, they don't directly compete with Amazon...). Just thinking out loud...

Its business and it comes down to a few quesitons.

For Amazon
1. Will denying audible support to B&N hurt the nook?
2. Will denying audible support to B&N take away from audibles business?

For B&N
1. Will denying audible support on the nook hurt Audible/Amazon?
2. Will allowing audible support on our device sell units?

From Amazon's standpoint it pretty much nets them nothing, and removes a possible market to penetrate.

From B&N's standpoint it does deny Amazon/Audible easier access to its user base, but it also denies themselves easier access to audibles user base.

In the end it probably wouldn't significantly hurt either one by denying, but it will effect the bottom-line of the company by denying each other marketing exposure, and thus would not be in each others best interest.

That is at least my armchair CEOing.
