I would like to be able to use the down screen as sort of a touchpad for the upper screen! Anyone got any idea if that's gonna work?

Looks pretty nice to me - and at least it isn't cluttered all over with buttons which is one of the things which put me off the Kindle ...

I like it. It's the 1st reader I'm considering giving my 10 & 13 year old Nephews. The fact they can surf the net and watch videos and other stuff on it will be great. This past summer, I actually downloaded 2 books and lend my older Nephew my PRS-505 to do his summer reading that was assigned for the 8th grade. He gave it back as soon as he was finished. He only liked the convenience of traveling with it for the summer since he split his summer in Miami & Detroit with his Grandmothers. It's hard to get teenage boys excited by an e-book reader but I think this might do the trick.

My 13 yr. old son went nuts over my EZ Reader this summer - until he found out there were LCD ones with COLOR. He reads a lot of comics and manga, so I'm assuming that's why it's a big thing for him. He's also a big fan of all in one capability, so he wants something like a net tablet. Unfortunately, budget says that's not happening this year, if anyone gets a net tablet it's going to be MOM.

Pick up an older slate off ebay, they come arround now and again. You don't need a very hefty PC to run comic readers.

I don't think it's photoshopped in but it looks retouched in some way, the device pops out in the picture. It looks approximately 3 times better than it did in the last picture...

fyi as to the posted image...looking at the file details show no significant photoshop alterations other than exposure and some color corrections for the ambient lighting. Nothing unusual or sneaky to be seen.

It was taken on a Canon 40D, 26mm (figure a zoom lens), f5.6, 1/15 sec, ISO320. After that the only details are it's cropped, and as mentioned already the only edits are to correct the exposure in ACR & Photoshop CS3.

The shot is legit and not altered. Had it been altered the EXIF info would reflect the changes.

hahahaha.....yeah, but good gawds who would spend the time on THAT much EXIF info considering it's a one-off sort thing? Easier to just not include the EXIF. Plus they would have had to save the original EXIF, edit the image, save it out as whatever format then re-add the original EXIF.

I like the tin-foil hat theory though...

My Nephew said all his cousins in Miami and Detroit said it was a cool book. But this past September was his 13th birthday and I offered to buy him a Kindle 2 and the truth came out. He vetoed it for an Ipod Touch. Anyway, the Touch has come to good use. His English class just assigned a book for them to read within 3 weeks. They will also take a test and write a paper at the end of the 3 weeks. It so happened to have been a Public Domain book and I downloaded to his Ipod since the book was on the Amazon site. So he is having fun reading it from his Ipod. He thinks it's way better for reading then the PRS-505 I lent to him this past summer!
