The device may dither them if it's not native colors. I don't think a picture is a good test for such a thing.

Anyway I've some more complicated grayscale tester in my own bag (and I prefer pictures with complicated display instead of simple "bar of gray".

I attach them with my post. The third one is for my point of view the best way to test a grayscale screen. but even trying to use "native gray value" of a Eink screen it always dither for a lot of reasons.
