I'd think if your info was static (i.e. you don't want to add/modify it when you're away form your PC), and you could get it into RTF or a sized PDF, then, yeah, I could see it working well enough as you're describing.

If the Kindle came out it would be a better "study" helper. The three main differences with other devices being the reasons. It has a "slip into ringed notebook" format, keyboard and wifi. I'd love to try that!

Umm but since you presumably code on your computer and thus have most need of your notes there, why not create the collection there?

For reference materials I keep a collection of books, notes, etc. in PDF files on a USB stick to load on whatever computer I am working on. Most of them are PDF although a few are CHM (I dislike/hate that format) that I have not converted yet.

well i also tend to read alot of reference material whenever i can. it would be nice to have a bunch of tech materials for quick reference or just to learn more about the stuff that i am working on.
